Voting Question: Is it legal to sit in the middle of a road that no cars are on?

My friends and I were long-boarding earlier and we got to a big hill down the street from my house so we would take turns filming each other, 1 Person long-boarding fast and doing stuff, 1 Person on another Long-board with A camera right behind the other, and another person sitting in the middle of the road holding the camera right above the ground to get a stationary view. We would always wait for there to be absolutely no cars on the road before anyone would go out in the road. It is a 2 lane road that is 2 miles from one end to the other and has no major roads in the middle. While we were filming a Cop came by and asked why I was in the road and sitting in the middle to which I replied That I am filming my friends and he said it is illegal to sit in the road, but he was very rude to me and as far as I can see by all the laws that I have seen in Washington the only thing that could have been illegal is if I was slowing or stopping traffic which we were no doing at all since there was probably 10 cars that drove by the whole 2 hours we were out there! I am wondering because we want to go out again and film more tomorrow but I don't want to get in trouble by the cops. One of the people with me has taken a multiple college law classes and doesn't know of any laws that prohibit this as long as were not being loud or stopping cars. I live in Kent, Washington, 98031, and the road that I was doing this on is 100th avenue Southeast. Put this into Google Maps to view the road ( 100th avenue southeast kent wa 98031 ) So is there a law against sitting in the road while there are no cars coming or going either direction on the road?
